Well, it took a certain amount of wrangling with odd and inexplicable technical difficulties, but I think I've finally managed it!  Here's my first podfic recording--just a wee one to start off, but a very sweet, whimsical story by [personal profile] such_heights .  Enjoy!

I've never listened to podfic before (I have a hard time concentrating on purely auditory things) so I hardly feel qualified to really comment, but that was a lovely story and you have a very nice voice! Congrats on trying something new!

I listened to this in the car the other day and finally remembered to come back and comment. I really enjoyed it! You did an excellent job reading it, and you chose a lovely story.

The only minor issue was that for some reason it was very quiet for me. I had to turn the volume up noticeably higher than I usually do for podfic. Still, that's a problem that takes one second to fix on my end, so not really a problem at all. :) Good job for you trying something new and doing great at it.

Yay, thank you! :D

Yes, I noticed that it was very quiet even when I was recording it. I think it's because my microphone was set to mute 80% of non-voice sounds, which took care of a lot of background noise but also damped my voice quite a bit. I don't really know how to fix that.

Did you think there were a lot of scratching sounds? I tried to eliminate most of them, but I think several got through anyway....

Anyhow, thanks again! I'm really glad you enjoyed it!

I did hear some scratching sounds, but I didn't really take note of them since the little transmitter thing I use to play my ipod in the car occasionally creates a bit of static. So obviously they weren't enough to be a distraction. Oh, technology. So wonderful and such a pain at the same time.

Haha, appropriate icon is appropriate.

Ah, that's good to know. And haha, yes, technology is a mixed blessing. :P
