 Dear flist,

Have any of you any music dear to your heart?  I would love some recommendations.  I'm especially interested in electronic music--I listen to a lot of folky pop and indie, but lately I've been getting into electronica and would like to find something new to like.  So far I like Crystal Castles, and I like Imogen Heap when she hasn't got too many filters on her voice.  I listen for lyrics as well as for sound.

Any suggestions would be most welcome indeed.  Thank you kindly!

Right now, I am OBSESSED with the new My Chemical Romance album. I've fallen in love with them all over again.

I really like Kap Bambino and Shitdisco. They're kind of punky electronic. KMFDM, Matthew Dear, UNKLE...

The Faint. LCD Soundsystem. Yeah Yeah Yeahs (It's Blitz! album-- earlier stuff is more punk). Muse. Radiohead (because this band has to go in any line of recommendations).

Right now my iTunes is on a repeat of Plushgun (especially Just Impolite), British India, and the stuff Nico did with The Velvet Underground. Also, The Big Pink has a slightly more techno edge to it than the rest of the above. ;)

Well, there's a lovely group called "the Potbelleez" that I do so love. My fovorite song is very good, but check out some of their other stuff too. The songs vary on lyric, erm, "depth", but it's all quite dancey.

Alan Parsons Project! Some concept albums; all albums include one or two instrumentals as well as songs. The songs tend not to be love songs.

Brian Eno's "Apollo" is awesome if you want something atmospheric.

Have you tried Regina Spektor?
A few other recommendations, hopefully some of these are new: the Wombats, Tegan and Sara, and Ingrid Michaelson.

They're not really electronic music, though, not my thing. My brother loves M.I.A and the Vicious Cuts albums (they're compilation albums), maybe you could give those a shot?
