So wait, after watching the finale, am I missing the bit from the series 6 trailer where what looks like a naked River is winking at the Doctor in Stormcage? I don't think they ever showed that scene anywhere...
I don't have it either (being, tragically, stuck in the US) but I've seen scans of it. It looks like it's a smallish blurb, red, with the picture of River winking.
The part at the end where Amy explains that she killed someone and it counts, because she remembers it so she did it? Love that's the time travel morality she decided on and how it also explains how the wedding has to still apply.
It would have to be what Amy would apply, or most of Amy's life/lives would be nonsense. So yeah, that was good. I wonder if Kovarian's still alive somewhere, then?
I think I adored it - I'm still kind of reeling, though, lol!! Some questions answered but so many left UNANSWERED! and yes, I noticed no naked River - and there was a scene where the Doctor practically GROWLED at River (dressed in her military fatigues) that was missing as well - and a scene with three Nazis that was also missing.
It wasn't at all what I was expecting, but I think I liked it. I mean, we all knew the Doctor didn't actually die, right? So I thought this episode would be figuring out how he did it. Not how River Song tried not to do it, ha. Good for her. Plus I love Moffat's dialogue so very much - "I'm his mother-in-law" "I think Mummy needs another drink" :D
I dunno, I don't see how sending a Doctor-shaped robot to die cheats time any less than having River not actually kill him. But logic has never been Doctor Who's main selling point. :P
Hmm, I'm figuring that the Doctor dying by the Lake was a fixed point in time, because either the Doctor was always going to die there or he was always going to let everyone think he was going to die there. Like in season 4 when Mt Vesuvius was always going to explode, because of a choice the Doctor was always going to make. Heh, I remember the last Christmas special and all the debates about whether or not young Kazran and old Kazran could be in the same place and time without it being a paradox. I like to imagine that there's logic ;)
Oh please let there be deleted scenes on the box set! That would be brilliant :D
That seems a bit like making Pompeii stay a fixed point, but evacuating the entire population and throwing a bunch of corpses you dug out of a cemetery around the town so that it still looked like everyone died. But who knows.

I may or may not have already completely 2000 words of wedding night smut. :|
I regret nothing~

Lol! How does that work if they rewrote the universe right after marrying? Also, was that a handfasting ceremony?
