Lovely Science Quote

I am among those who think that science has great beauty. A scientist in his laboratory is not only a technician: he is also a child placed before natural phenomena which impress him like a fairy tale. We should not allow it to be believed that all scientific progress can be reduced to mechanisms, machines, gearings, even though such machinery also has its beauty.

Neither do I believe that the spirit of adventure runs any risk of disappearing in our world. If I see anything vital around me, it is precisely that spirit of adventure, which seems indestructible and is akin to curiosity.

Her daughters were pretty cool, too. Eve was a journalist and Irene was a Nobel Laureate scientist.

Definitely biology. I am a bio nerd like you wouldn't believe, though I also have a lot of Carl Sagan-inspired love for astronomy, and I can appreciate some good chem and physics even if I don't totally understand it. (So, all of them, basically. ^_^) How about you?

That's cool!

I am a huge math geek (I know, I know, not exactly a science, but still). I like the natural sciences, too--I took zoology and earth science in high school, and I enjoyed them quite a bit. :)

Marie Curie was awesome. My favorite author, Anne Michaels, wrote a beautiful poem about her, called Second Search, and I wanted to find a link to give you, because if you admire her I think you'd really like this poem, but I can't find it anywhere.
